Workshops with Suzi Thompson
I run a series of collagraph, relief, drypoint and printing from nature print workshops throughout the year as well as simple stitched and bound book making workshops.
Numbers on the workshops at my home studio are limited to a maximum of two people giving you virtually ‘one to one’ tuition but I also hold group workshops with a maximum of ten people at outside venues in Derbyshire and Sheffield, more informal than the home workshops but still as intensive and inky….
All materials are included as well as tea and coffee but please be prepared to cater for your own lunch at any of the workshops.

COLLAGRAPH PRINT WORKSHOPS
A full day course where we will make and create collagraph plates using simple found materials, textured papers, glue, resins and more. We will learn how to ink and wipe back the plate in order to take a successful print, explore texture and layers and have fun creating the plates using simple and accessible materials.
We will explore the endless possibilities of collagraph printmaking using techniques such as simple registration on the press bed to create layered and multi coloured prints, printing over textural collagraph images with found materials, blind embossing, multi coloured inking on the plate to create one off monoprint type images…. or maybe there is something else you want to try out to see how it works?
A creative and experimental day for you to get really inky with collagraph printing.
Full course notes will be sent to you well before the workshop. These notes will enable you to gain a better understanding of the processes before you attend, so that, when you arrive on the day, you can get straight on to making plates!
All materials are included plus you will go home with all your collagraph plates and prints made on the day.
Beginners Collagraph
Make and create collagraph plates using simple found materials, textured papers, glue, resins and more. Then ink and wipe back the plate in order to take a successful print. A creative and experimental day for you to get really inky with collagraph printing.

Next Steps Collagraph
Following on from the beginners workshop and using your own collagraph plates from the first workshop, or new ones you have made since, come and have a go at extending your print making ideas by using multi layered plates,chine-collé and printing A la poupée. This is a follow on workshop from the beginners.
£60 for the day.
