I am a printmaker based in South Yorkshire working with collagraph, drypoint & relief printing processes to create limited edition prints, artists’ books and a range of hand printed, bound and stitched notebooks.

My printmaking reflects my impressions of the natural landscapes surrounding my home and studio; inspired by the accessible open countryside of my local surroundings, British wildlife and flora.

Using intricate cutting and applied textures to my collagraph plates allows me to explore the structures and forms of native wildflowers and wildlife; isolating key
elements and sections of the cycle of the seasons or the character of a familiar animal or bird. The addition of drypoint further enhances my studies of these forms using the drawn line directly on the printing plate.

I also enjoy the tactile process of book making and combine hand printed paper and card covers with traditional case binding coptic and pamphlet stitch to create a range of individual notebooks and sketchbooks alongside hand printed and constructed artists books. The individual hand printed covers for my books use patterns and motifs that reflect my current line of print work.

I’ve recently extended my practice to include teaching and now hold regular workshops from my home studio as well as outreach workshops in the surrounding area. I am an original founder and active member of Sheffield Printmakers, an organisation encompassing all forms of printmaking whose primary aim is the promotion of printmaking as a creative force in Sheffield and beyond plus I am also one of the organisers of the annual Sheffield Print Fair.
